Katja and Arne's travel stories

Friday – the start of yet another weekend

This has been a good day. A couple of yoga classes and finalizing the deal about the room we ended up not renting.

We made a deal with the people renting out the house that we did not want to stay in today. Everyone are happy and we got most of our prepaid money back today. They could have held back on this in regard of the cancellation policy, but it all worked out well. We met them for drinks during the day and got a lot of good tips for what to see and where to eat on the island.
Katja is detoxing from her shopping, but had a fall back today. We are straightening that out and are now in a zero tolerance period for her. Please do not post pretty things on Facebook, especially shoes and handbags.

I have earlier written about the offerings that the Hindi here on Bali are offering to gods and spirits. Today we walked by the market here in Ubud. A bustling, low quality market. Among the offerings outside the stores we came across this one. And as you can see… You offer what you got, cigarettes included.

We will move from our current residence on Monday and move to a hotel with a pool. We look forward to getting our feet wet again. The temperature is still on the high twenties, but humidity is not so bad. Tonight is BBQ night at a local restaurant. Maybe we’ll go there. The last few times I have written what we are to do for dinner we have been full enough from lunch to just take a yogurt.

Humongen! The big guy! The man, the myth, the legend! And then theres' me. The nice guy in the house. The man without cooking skills, but with five stars on the Playstation. Boss at work, relaxed at home. What you see is what you get. Life is good. I choose it to be.
