Some days you move into a routine. Before you know it the new way of life is the new standard. And voila, the new life = routine.
So to make sure life is not all about routine we have to mix things up. This was not one of those days, I’m afraid. It was a Sunday like the last couples of Sunday’s. Up in the morning, breakfast, do some tech-stuff (upgrading to IOS8) , time by the poolside, yoga, dinner, bedtime. A dent in the “glamorous” new routine was that Katja awoke with a sore neck it was OK at bedtime last night so she has probably done something in her sleep. And as we sleep from about 22:00-07:00 it’s a lot of hours to do something wrong. We hope it will get better soon.
What was cool today was an extension from yesterday. We got to know Regie yesterday, and he came back to Ubud for Acro yoga today. His story is just so cool. He has been working in the Spa industry on cruise ships. The later years he’s been a quality inspector and have traveled on different cruise ships to receive treatments (as a secret shopper) and after that done training with the staff based on their needs. That sounds like a dream job to most people, but if you’re not happy you’re not happy. So he and his wife both quit their jobs, sold the house and started to travel. He is now here in Bali and she’s in Nepal. They will meet up later after they finish up each personal “mission”. In the meantime we get to know Reggie, and he seems like the real deal.
Today we did some more stuff and poses in the Acro yoga and I based while Regie does the “Star”. It is so much harder being the one on top, so Kudos to him for that. If you want to tighten up your core it is highly recommended that you do some Acro yoga.
For our own part we have been working on the most basic move, and to get it done with more grace than we have manage before. It’s a basic lift up to a pose that’s called “Bird”. To get the proper lift you need more than just physical strength. It’s about trust and commitment. The flyer needs to be committed and really lean into the base. Who on his / her’s side must receive and lift in as straight a line as possible. When you get even better, you do it without hands. We’re not there yet, but we’re starting to get the basic lift into the right track at least. This video is from today’s jam after class.
After dinner at a local Padang we’re now chilling out and doing more tech-stuff. Get the pads updates to IOS8, starting to use the family setting in iStore instead of the same ID,Β and finally we’ll watch an episode of Covert Affairs. Another day with happiness, friendship and contentment.
Maybe the new routine is not so bad after all…
